The authentic western theme accomodations and beautiful vistas of the ranch were great contributors to our productivity and comfort.

GCR History

In over twenty years, we've taken care of thousands of guests

Leslie Schultz was a frustrated meeting planner. Planning meetings worldwide for twenty-five years left her constantly annoyed at the lack of attention given to small groups in large hotels, regardless of budget size. So, in true entrepreneurial fashion, Leslie decided to open her own conference center. In 1985, Leslie began her quest for the ideal environment, and in 1988, Garrett Creek Ranch opened for business. Each cabin and room on the Ranch was built to serve those participating in meetings. Nothing was retrofitted or adapted; each space was created for conferences only.

"The road goes on forever..." —Robert Earl Keen

The Ranch was originally a cattle ranch and pecan farm, with 1,500 pecan trees which are still harvested annually. The only building on the property was a ranch house and windmill (hence, our logo). Over the years, we've added more meeting and guest rooms, along with other amenities. In 2006, we redecorated all the cabins and the game room. We added wireless technology, began our "green ranch" program, and by the end of the year, the workout facility will be updated as well. As long as our guests continue to give us good ideas, we will keep growing!
